The outer surface of the Enste weighted blanket is divided in to segments: in each segment there is a weighted bag filled with plastic granules. The weight bags are padded with foam to reduce noise. The pocket in each segment has a zip allowing you to easily remove the weight bags. The weighted blanket is used for body awareness and for improving proprioception through the use of stimuli applied to the muscles and nervous system. Also gives positive results in cases of cognitive and cerebral conditions. Weighted blankets are used in “attachment therapy” to treat people with symptoms of autism, among other things. This also involves stimulus (proprioceptive) feedback combined with emotional support. The Enste weighted blanket is available in two versions: with either a Suratec or cotton outer cover.
